Bug still present in quantal. The example is a bit badly chosen though, since I doubt there are keyboard layouts with latin characters without a question mark. Better examples would be ctrl-shift-uFE (þ aka SMALL THORN) and ctrl-shift-u26f (ɯ aka IPA high back rounded vowel aka SMALL TURNED M).
However, there is the following user-side fix: Instead of keeping CTRL and SHIFT pressed when releasing the U and then typing the hexcode, press CTRL-SHIFT-U, then release all keys, type the hexcode and press space. This method, though it necessitates an additional keypress (space), does the same as the first method and avoids any ctrl- shift-<key> triggered commands. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/799983 Title: Terminal menu short-cut(s) override Unicode composition To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-terminal/+bug/799983/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
