Plymouth version should have been the same; I'm running a bone-stock Ubuntu 12.04 64-bit that was upgraded from OEM Ubuntu 11.10 about a week after 12.04 came out. The only thing I've done other than perform updates is to add applications; no system modifications other than to modify /etc/init/lightdm.conf and adding "respawn" like this:
... stop on runlevel [016] respawn # <-- add this line emits login-session-start emits desktop-session-start emits desktop-shutdown ... as suggested in https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lightdm/+bug/969489 thread #48 to fix the lightdm 'failure to start' bug. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1219918 Title: Plymouth is low resolution since updates in 12.04 64-bit To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/plymouth/+bug/1219918/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
