Same problem here, HP TC4200 laptop Kubuntu doe not resume correctly from 'suspend to ram'
After resuming, the login mask is displayed, enlarged, rather that the suspended session. Ctrl-Alt-Bksp restarts kdm, so that the login mask has the right resolution. My suspended session is lost however. In the kdm.log file, i have noticed the enclosed lines. Any ideas? What to look for, in the suspend2ram.log file?
