I'll also be trying this again with 266MB for the EFI system partition. The reason is because Stuart earlier mentioned that the minimum “proper” FAT32 partition (at least 64K clusters) is ~133MB—it is actually ~266MB. He multiplied incorrectly. It is ~33MB for 512-byte sectors, so it is ~33MB * 8 (~266MB) for 4096-byte sectors. I'll see if anything is any better with 266MB or if we're about the same.
