I don't think it is nessessarry to install the mainline kernel at this
point.  The latest 3.11-rc5 kernel does not have your system blacklisted
in the Intel IPS code.

The kernel I mentioned in comment #6 blacklists your machine in the IPS
code.  It sounds like it stops these messages from spamming your log,
per comment #13.  I will submit this patch upstream and to the Ubuntu
kernel team mailing list.

You also mentioned the system still does not shut down.  That is
probably a separate bug.  Can you open a new bug for that issue?
