thanks chris for your help. and you were right. seem that it was set on
"display when necessary". do you know if pidgin dev have think of making
an applet for it? or maybe another of icon tray for the apps? because a
lot of apps have the tray icon option, as amule, gtk-gnutella,
kiba-dock, beryl, etc...

maybe a design of a new only app tray icon would be a new option for
gnome/ubuntu. what do you think?
