Hello, I'm sorry, but I've switched to Linux Mint Debian Edition some time ago on all my PCs, so I'm not able to test this anymore. With LMDE kernel 3.2.0-4-686-pae #1 SMP Debian 3.2.32-1 i686 GNU/Linux the problem is not present anymore as far as I can see, but no idea if that will help you.
