Thank you for your bug report. This is strange because I tried a Feisty boot CD two days ago on an Intel Core 2 Duo with an NVIDIA 8600GTS and while there was usplash corruption on the progress bar the system still booted...
Might be an NVIDIA 8xxx and AMD64 issue if no one else sees it.
