Public bug reported: I uninstalled mysql, apache before removing moodle. When I uninstalled moodle, it asked me if I would like to purge the moodle database and clicked 'Yes'. Since there was no mysql database, it returned the error and aborted the moodle installation.
I used apt-get remove moodle for removing the installed moodle package. When I installed moodle, I used the default moodle package that came in the raring ringtail's repos. Hope this helps :) Best Regards Kedar ProblemType: Package DistroRelease: Ubuntu 13.04 Package: moodle 2.2.6.dfsg-1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.8.0-26.38-generic 3.8.13.2 Uname: Linux 3.8.0-26-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.9.2-0ubuntu8.1 AptOrdering: moodle: Remove Architecture: amd64 Date: Fri Jul 19 09:56:18 2013 ErrorMessage: subprocess installed pre-removal script returned error exit status 1 InstallationDate: Installed on 2013-05-31 (48 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 13.04 "Raring Ringtail" - Release amd64 (20130424) MarkForUpload: True PackageArchitecture: all SourcePackage: moodle Title: package moodle 2.2.6.dfsg-1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed pre-removal script returned error exit status 1 UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: moodle (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-package raring -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1202927 Title: package moodle 2.2.6.dfsg-1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed pre-removal script returned error exit status 1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/moodle/+bug/1202927/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
