Davide Depau, thank you for your response. Regarding it:
>"The fact that it suspends when I close the lid while shutting down (even if I
>disabled any action when closing the lid from system settings) happens only
>with saucy."

Ok. Let us focus on this issue alone, as this was what was first
reported in your Bug Description, it's well defined, and it's a
regression.

>"Instead, the fan always started rotating very fast after suspend since Natty
>or Oneiric, I don't remember precisely. I'm quite sure it didn't happen with
>Lucid and Maverick. Moreover, before Precise I was able to restore the fan's
>normal behavior by (dis)connecting the charger; since Precise it doesn't work
>anymore. I want also to say that the kernel is never able to make the fan
>rotate as fast as after suspend, even if the PC is very hot (some times, if I
>render some animation with blender or use some 3D video game, it turns off
>suddenly and doesn't turn on for a few minutes, because it isn't able to
>dissipate the heat). Another detail: in the first case, when it suspends while
>shutting down, if
I (dis)connect the charger it wakes up like if I pressed the power button;
sometimes it wakes up even if I don't touch anything, and that's not a pleasure
at midnight while sleeping... ;)"

Let us put all of this aside for now. Once the first issue is resolved, we
could circle back on the others, one at a time, via separate bug reports, one
for each issue, as outlined by the Ubuntu Kernel team article:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelTeam/KernelTeamBugPolicies#Filing_Kernel_Bug_reports

the Ubuntu Bug Control team and Ubuntu Bug Squad team article:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/BestPractices#X.2BAC8-Reporting.Focus_on_One_Issue

and Ubuntu Community article:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#Bug_reporting_etiquette

** Description changed:

Some times, when I turn off the laptop, I close the lid and it goes to
sleep without finishing shutting down. After a few minutes, it turns
automatically on itself and finishes shutting down. When I turn on the
PC again, it shows an Apport message as soon as I log in.
-
- Moreover, when I suspend it manually and resume it again, the fan starts
- rotating too fast until I reboot the PC.
