Public bug reported: When commiting (and other operations) in a git submodule, vim does not set the correct filetype as is expected, which is very annoying.
The file "filetype.vim" would need a change, then. However, the guys at vim (in this case Bram Moolenaar) already fixed this in a more recent version of the file "filetype.vim". I suggest that this file is updated in the ubuntu vim package: https://code.google.com/p/vim/source/browse/runtime/filetype.vim (version when reporting this bug: 2013-06-24). However, unrelated changes are introduced in the updated file! A diff of the current ubuntu version of the file and the one of 2013-06-24 is attached. ** Affects: vim (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Patch added: "Update "filetype.vim" to current version" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1196970/+attachment/3721863/+files/filetype.vim.diff -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1196970 Title: Filetype not set on git commit in submodules To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/vim/+bug/1196970/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
