I see a very similar problem as the original poster in a similar setting (2 access points using the same SSID). Every once in a while, the connection deauthenticates. This seems to be happening more often, when the system is idle (not in sleep mode, but left alone for a few minutes).
I am observing this on 3.8.0-23-generic #34-Ubuntu SMP Wed May 29 20:22:58 UTC 2013 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux at the moment but have seen the same issue in earlier version of the 13.04 release cycle.
