my way to restore soundness of Ubuntu 13.04: Synyaptic Package manager removal (no complete removal) of ubuntu-restricted-extras and ubuntu-restricted-plugins in one instance. some error faults. doesn't matter, I conclude. out of installation in process of an own kernel i purged afterwards in terminal thus: dpkg -l 'linux-*' | sed '/^ii/!d;/'"$(uname -r | sed "s/\(.*\)-\([^0-9]\+\)/\1/")"'/d;s/^[^ ]* [^ ]* \([^ ]*\).*/\1/;/[0-9]/!d' | xargs sudo apt-get -y purge hopefully all well now Mein Weg aus dem Dilemma: Synyaptic Package manager Entfernt (keine komplette Entfernung anscheinend notwendig) von ubuntu-restricted-extras und ubuntu-restricted-plugins in einem "Rutsch". Auftretende Fehlermeldungen beachtet aber haben mich nicht irritiert Ich sah bei Installation zu, Gott sei Dank, und so konnte ich genau deinstallieren. Es erschien mir so, als sei ein mir neuer Kernel mitinstalliert, dazu eine Fehlermeldung bezüglich anderem Kernel, also im Terminal gleich hinterher: dpkg -l 'linux-*' | sed '/^ii/!d;/'"$(uname -r | sed "s/\(.*\)-\([^0-9]\+\)/\1/")"'/d;s/^[^ ]* [^ ]* \([^ ]*\).*/\1/;/[0-9]/!d' | xargs sudo apt-get -y purge das dürfte hoffentlich genügen.
