I wouldn't say so.

IMHO there is an easy way to change the default idle time of unclutter:
Edit /etc/default/unclutter.

Then again, you and some more people consider this unreasonable. If you
can explain a little bit more, why you consider that unreasonable or how
you think that this can be done better, there may be a chance to change
this.
