By the way, I thought I should mention that I have two hard drives on my
computer, one with Windows XP and another with Xubuntu. So I can choose
which system I want to boot up from the grub menu. Today I booted up XP
and installed Thunderbird. I already had Firefox on the XP system. Both
Thunderbird and Firefox worked well on the XP system. I could not crash
the Microsoft XP operating system by switching from one to the other.

This really does not prove much, since these are different versions of
Thunderbird and Firefox, made for the Microsoft operating systems.
Still, it makes me think that my problem with system crashes in Xubuntu
cannot related to hardware problems with my online graphics card.
