One more comment:

boot repair asks me to check wether the laptop is booted from:
sda1/EFI/ubuntu/grub/x86_64-efi

Is there a way how I can force the bootloader to use this directory?
how can I check which directory is used (is there a config file I can look
into)?

Tx,
Gerald
