I have been using unity 2D for 10 days now without a single crash. I
think this suggests that the effects implemented in unity are the cause
of it's instability.

Which is too bad, because many people don't need graphical window
effects. I surely don't. What I need is a stable operating system.

-Version-
Kernel : Linux 3.8.8-030808-generic (i686)

-Processors-
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU P8400 @ 2.26GHz : 800,00MHz
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU P8400 @ 2.26GHz : 2268,00MHz

-Display-
Resolution : 1440x900 pixels
Vendor : The X.Org Foundation
Version : 1.11.3

Using a NVidia Quadro NVS 160M on a Dell E6400.

Hope this helps in some way,

Paddelboot
