Public bug reported:

This bug is similar to Bug #944040 in that remmina displays:

Unable to connect to RDP server XXXXXX

And removing the server IP, hostname and FQDN from
~/.freerdp/known_hosts fixes the issue.

Behavior:

1. Reboot windows machine
2. Reconnect with Remmina
3. Some how the host identification changed (group policy? I don't manage this)
4. Remmina displays "unable to connect ..."

Opening remmina from the command line shows:

connected to windows-server.fqdn:3389
The host key for windows-server.fqdn has changed

IT IS POSSIBLE THAT SOMEONE IS DOING SOMETHING NASTY!
Someone could be eavesdropping on you right now (man-in-the-middle attack)!
It is also possible that a host key has just been changed.
The fingerprint for the host key sent by the remote host is
e5:2f:69:45:69:76:e7:66:20:c9:69:ee:d6:7f:88:ee:d6:85:3a
Please contact your system administrator.
Add correct host key in ~/.freerdp/known_hosts to get rid of this message.
Host key for windows-server.fqdn has changed and you have requested strict
checking.
Host key verification failed.
SSL_write: Failure in SSL library (protocol error?)
Authentication failure, check credentials.
If credentials are valid, the NTLMSSP implementation may be to blame.
Terminated

Expected:

The unable to connect dialog should say the reason why is unable to
connect. It should perhaps say "This is the known identification
fingerprint for this host, but we are getting this new one, would you
like to override it?"
