Have same issue on raring. Which is quite sad, since I have just bought a usb3 adapter and 2 usb3 disk relying on old info like "USB3 is coming to linux before windows" (http://www.neowin.net/news/main/09/06/11 /linux-is-first-os-to-support-usb-30). Four years have gone by from those announcements and on my machine USB3 is unusable. Those announcements are the worst possible advocacy for linux.
Anyway. I have a VIA VL80x xHCI USB 3.0 Controller on PCI and a usb3 enclosure that announces itself as JMicron Technology Corp. / JMicron USA Technology Corp. on lsusb. Just in case this may help debugging. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1050352 Title: External USB 3.0 hard drive randomly disconnects and connects To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1050352/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
