Public bug reported: Every time I turn my computer on, it hard freeze after a few minutes. Mouse and keyboard doesn't respond, and I can't switch to any VT (ctrl+alt+Fn won't work). All I can do is either reset or hard shutdown, pressing the cabinet buttons. The problem started when I updated from Ubuntu 12.10 to 13.04. Now it always happens the first time I boot, and I need to reboot two or three times until it doesn't happen anymore.
As always I suspect it has to do with my GPU: ATI Radeon 4870 (AMD RV770, by glxinfo), using kernel and free drivers from repository, always updated. ** Affects: xorg (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1186483 Title: System freezes few minutes after boot To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1186483/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
