Thomas Bousquet, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. Lucid reached EOL on May 9, 2013. Please see this document for currently supported Ubuntu releases: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Releases
We were wondering if this is still an issue in a supported release? If so, as per http://www.sony.co.uk/support/en/product/VGN-AR31E/updates an update is available for your BIOS (R0200J6). If you update to this, does it change anything? As well, once complete, please provide the output of the following terminal command: sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date Also, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com /daily-live/current/ . If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in the development release from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal), as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report: apport-collect -p linux <replace-with-bug-number> Also, could you please test the latest upstream kernel available following https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds ? It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Please do not test the kernel in the mainline kernels archive directory daily folder. Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please comment on which kernel version specifically you tested. If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tags: kernel-fixed-upstream kernel-fixed-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER where VERSION-NUMBER is the version number of the kernel you tested. For example: kernel-fixed-upstream-v3.10-rc2 This can be done by clicking on the yellow circle with a black pencil icon next to the word Tags located at the bottom of the bug description. As well, please remove the tag: needs-upstream-testing If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the following tags: kernel-bug-exists-upstream kernel-bug-exists-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER As well, please remove the tag: needs-upstream-testing If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, please comment as to why specifically you were unable to test it and add the following tags: kernel-unable-to-test-upstream kernel-unable-to-test-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug's Status as Confirmed. Please let us know your results. Thank you for your understanding. Helpful bug reporting tips: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs ** This bug is no longer a duplicate of bug 1073749 WARNING: at /build/buildd/linux-3.5.0/kernel/power/suspend_test.c:53 suspend_test_finish+0x86/0x90() ** Description changed: The bug appear when i make suspend with some softwares open (banshee, liferea, evolution, chromium). The bug appear only if i suspend the PC for a long time ( more than 2 hours i think ). It tell me that there is a kernel bug, but i didn't notice any bug, the PC still working fine without reboot. - - Thx - - - ~$ uname -a - Linux tom-laptop 2.6.32-19-generic #28-Ubuntu SMP Wed Mar 31 17:46:20 UTC 2010 i686 GNU/Linux - - - :~$ cat /proc/version_signature - Ubuntu 2.6.32-19.28-generic 2.6.32.10+drm33.1 - - - dmesg: - [ 0.925203] e100 0000:0a:08.0: PME# disabled - [ 0.925987] e100: eth0: e100_probe: addr 0xd2005000, irq 20, MAC addr 00:13:a9:83:29:be - [ 0.926028] ohci1394 0000:0a:03.1: enabling device (0000 -> 0002) - [ 0.926036] ohci1394 0000:0a:03.1: PCI INT A -> GSI 16 (level, low) -> IRQ 16 - [ 0.980080] ohci1394: fw-host0: OHCI-1394 1.1 (PCI): IRQ=[16] MMIO=[d2006000-d20067ff] Max Packet=[2048] IR/IT contexts=[4/8] - [ 1.020055] usb 1-8: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 4 - [ 1.155663] usb 1-8: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice - [ 1.344058] ata3: SATA link up 1.5 Gbps (SStatus 113 SControl 300) - [ 1.345032] ata3.00: ACPI cmd ef/90:03:00:00:00:a0 (SET FEATURES) succeeded - [ 1.392094] usb 3-1: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 2 - [ 1.568909] usb 3-1: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice - [ 1.587322] usbcore: registered new interface driver hiddev - [ 1.590136] input: Logitech USB Receiver as /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1d.1/usb3/3-1/3-1:1.0/input/input4 - [ 1.590250] generic-usb 0003:046D:C526.0001: input,hidraw0: USB HID v1.11 Mouse [Logitech USB Receiver] on usb-0000:00:1d.1-1/input0 - [ 1.594943] input: Logitech USB Receiver as /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1d.1/usb3/3-1/3-1:1.1/input/input5 - [ 1.595106] generic-usb 0003:046D:C526.0002: input,hiddev96,hidraw1: USB HID v1.11 Device [Logitech USB Receiver] on usb-0000:00:1d.1-1/input1 - [ 1.595131] usbcore: registered new interface driver usbhid - [ 1.595134] usbhid: v2.6:USB HID core driver - [ 1.763988] ata3.00: ATA-7: TOSHIBA MK1234GSX, AH001A, max UDMA/100 - [ 1.763996] ata3.00: 234441648 sectors, multi 16: LBA48 NCQ (depth 31/32), AA - [ 1.765595] ata3.00: ACPI cmd ef/90:03:00:00:00:a0 (SET FEATURES) succeeded - [ 1.766858] ata3.00: configured for UDMA/100 - [ 1.780244] scsi 2:0:0:0: Direct-Access ATA TOSHIBA MK1234GS AH00 PQ: 0 ANSI: 5 - [ 1.780439] sd 2:0:0:0: Attached scsi generic sg1 type 0 - [ 1.780626] sd 2:0:0:0: [sda] 234441648 512-byte logical blocks: (120 GB/111 GiB) - [ 1.780686] sd 2:0:0:0: [sda] Write Protect is off - [ 1.780689] sd 2:0:0:0: [sda] Mode Sense: 00 3a 00 00 - [ 1.780720] sd 2:0:0:0: [sda] Write cache: enabled, read cache: enabled, doesn't support DPO or FUA - [ 1.780896] sda: - [ 1.812051] usb 4-1: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 2 - [ 1.817401] sda1 sda2 < sda5 sda6 > - [ 1.845195] sd 2:0:0:0: [sda] Attached SCSI disk - [ 1.982209] usb 4-1: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice - [ 1.990094] hub 4-1:1.0: USB hub found - [ 1.991062] hub 4-1:1.0: 3 ports detected - [ 2.252225] ieee1394: Host added: ID:BUS[0-00:1023] GUID[080046030241f3a9] - [ 2.253276] EXT4-fs (sda1): mounted filesystem with ordered data mode - [ 13.038938] udev: starting version 151 - [ 13.158205] Adding 2441840k swap on /dev/sda5.
