Public bug reported:

When I try to install kubuntu using the Alternate Install CD on an older
AMD Athlon based machine (approx. 1GHz no further details yet, I got it
used fromk a friend), the graphical Boot-Menu doesn't recognize my USB-
Keyboard (Saitek Compact USB Keyboard).

After waiting for the default option (text-mode-install) to start, eache
and every keypress is detected twice, so I'm not able to navigate to
half of the menu options and cannot enter proper information such as
hostname, usernames, passwords etc.

I used this keyboard on a finished Installation of kubuntu Dapper on the
same machine and once KDE (KDM) has started everythig is normal.

How to reproduce:
1.) Attach Saitek Compact USB Keyboard to PC
2.) Insert Alternate Install CD
3.) reboot
4.) Try to navigate through Menus using Arrow-Keys and [ENTER] / [TAB] / [ESC]

** Affects: Ubuntu
     Importance: Untriaged
         Status: Unconfirmed
