I have the same issue (Dell XPS 13, Ubuntu 13.04). Just wanted to add that the messages in /var/log/syslog appear only when the laptop's _lid is closed_ (I close it when using an external monitor/keyboard).
When I open the lid the messages immediately and consistently stop.
