Public bug reported: I've set my CONCURRENCY_LEVEL variable to 8 to use all CPU cores of the i7. This works fine when compiling programs from the command line. But whenever dkms needs to compile something, like e.g. the vboxdrv, it only uses one single core (can be seen with htop) and thus takes a lot longer.
This is on Ubuntu 13.04 with dkms 2.2.0.3-1.1ubuntu2. I also noticed this on Quantal with older dkms versions. ** Affects: dkms (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: compiling concurrency cores threads -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1183690 Title: dkms only using one core for compiling To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/dkms/+bug/1183690/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
