Cedric, sorry, forget about comment #22. The cups-daem,on package was only introduced with 13.04. So you need to follow only the instructions of comment #21 and this you have done two weeks ago. Now you should observe the daily crashes, which you already confirmed.
So now please install the proposed package as described in comment #25. After that you should not observe the crashes any more.
