I don't know if it's related or not, but after I let my computer sleep, and
turn off power to my home theater amp and tv set, the HDMI sound goes
missing and doesn't return until a reboot OR if I go into display, change
resolutions and hit apply, then HDMI resets itself and ATI Cedar shows up
again in the sound settings panel and works fine when selected. if
there's not a good behind the scenes way to get HDMI to reset itself after
sleep, perhaps a "check for HDMI devices" button is in order on the sound
panel?
