Public bug reported: Reproducible: 100%
Steps: Install torcs from the gutsy repositories and launch it. Configure any kind or race or practice The only robots available are cylos, damned, inferno, inferno2, lliaw, tanhoj and tita. Upstream version 1.3.0 also has robots berniw, berniw two, bt and olethros. This is important since these robots are actually the quickest to drive against (with one exception). Although I have gutsy x86 installed, a look at the files at packages.ubuntu.com reveals that the only driver libraries in the AMD64 and PPC (wasn't this deprecated?) architectures are: usr/lib/torcs/drivers/cylos1/cylos1.so usr/lib/torcs/drivers/damned/damned.so usr/lib/torcs/drivers/human/human.so usr/lib/torcs/drivers/inferno/inferno.so usr/lib/torcs/drivers/inferno2/inferno2.so usr/lib/torcs/drivers/lliaw/lliaw.so usr/lib/torcs/drivers/tanhoj/tanhoj.so usr/lib/torcs/drivers/tita/tita.so I understand that some cars and the respective drivers are not avaliable because the car models are non-free, such as the rally cars. However, the berniw and olethros robots are GPL v2 or later and thus fully redistributable. ** Affects: torcs (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Torcs has few robots https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/128672 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
