Public bug reported: If I decode an MP3 file to a WAV file using the --wav option the resulting WAV file appears to have an incomplete/unusable header.
For example, after running: mpg321 --wav output.wav input.mp3 If I then run 'file' on output.wav I get "RIFF (little-endian) data, WAVE audio, stereo 44100 Hz". By comparison if I run 'file' on another WAV file I get "RIFF (little-endian) data, WAVE audio, Microsoft PCM, 16 bit, stereo 44100 Hz" I discovered this when trying to use the resulting WAV files with cdrdao. CD rejects the output of mpg321 with the error message "ERROR: output.wav: not in PCM format." while it accepts the WAV file where the header seems to contain more complete information.
