Thanks, but I love the little devil! After all it is one reminder that this is NOT Windows! So I purged gnome3 ppa. That solved the scrollbar problem. Unity Tweak Tool (miracoulously & unecpectantly) solved the (despite the purge) remaining two: wallpapers and suspend! Thanks again. SP
