Related to the problem of which file is selected... In a folder with many files in it, select one by clicking it (in Details View)
Change the ordering of the list by clicking name or type etc. You should see that the selected file does not stay on the one you selected. Changing the ordering of the list by clicking the column headers actually affects which file is highlighted.
