I assume that your problem happens with the IPP-based print queue clp315wsplc (a Samsung CLP-310 or CLP-315).
Do you have one printer where the two print queues are pointing at or do you have 2 printers? Which model(s) exactly? Which drivers are you using with it/them and how well they are working? Your problem is a buggy IPP implementation in your Samsung printer. It does not prevent you from printing but generates the error messages. To avoid these errors the simplest solution is to not use IPP as network connection type. Instead, use AppSocket/JetDirect or LPD. When you use the "Add printer" wizard of system-config-printer, on the first page you see a list of detected printers with your Samsung(s) under the network printers. When selecting your printer on the right at the bottom a "Connections" list will appear. You get IPP, LPD, JetDirect/AppSocket, and perhaps more. Best is to select something like "JetDirect/AppSocket via DNS-SD". Note tha DNS-SD assures that your printer stays connected to your computer if the router assigns another IP address to it. We cannot do anything against the buggy IPP implementation in your printer, therefore I am closing this bug now, but please tell us anyway what you have found out. ** Changed in: cups (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1104333 Title: Odd status messages when using ipp protocol To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cups/+bug/1104333/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
