Public bug reported: 1. Boot from LiveCD and start the graphical install by double-clicking on the Install icon. 2. Welcome scren, scroll down to Simplified Chinese and you will see one character missing (it show the unicode value instead).
If you continue the installation in Chinese the system installs well but the whole font used to display Simplified Chinese misses about 30% characters I would say, making it unusable. Note 1: Doesn't happen in Ubuntu install Note 2: at least one other language is affected by looking at this list: the one before KurdĂ®. All characters appear as their unicode values ** Affects: Ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Edubuntu (Feisty) install uses uncomplete Chinese font https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/128236 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
