Aah. The reason for this seems to be the "Screen Locker" feature under "Display and Monitor" in system settings. It was set to start automatically after 15 minutes, but the "require password" option was _not_ selected. Despite this, the locker confusingly shows a password prompt when it activates.
Couple of additional design points: why is there a auto-lock setting in both power settings and display and monitor settings, and why would I ever have a locker without a password? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to kde-workspace in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1168694 Title: A dummy login screen is displayed upon idle To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kde-workspace/+bug/1168694/+subscriptions -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-b...@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
