Quick filter uses xapian, which by default only matches complete terms. The package rednotebook does not contain the term “notebook” anywhere in its name or description. It is possible to match something like “notebook*”. I do not know whether xapian supports “*notebook” type searches, however doing this by default would severly impact the speed of the quick filter feature. Think of quick filter as a fast alternative to a full search. If you are dissatisfied by its results, then use the more complete but slower search, which does indeed turn up rednotebook for this query. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1169002 Title: synaptic Quick Filter does not find words in title To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/synaptic/+bug/1169002/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
