I keep hoping updates in daily builds will suddenly cause Wobbly Windows
to work, but so far -- no.

Graphics card is an ATI Radeon HD 4350. Rarin' enabled it with a Gallium
0.4 on AMD RV 710 graphics driver.

In Quantal, which I also installed from scratch and which is still
bootable on this computer, the graphics driver is "unknown," and yet
Wobbly Windows work. They also work fine in Precise, which, likewise, is
still bootable on this machine. Precise was an in-place upgrade from
earlier releases, however. And Precise still supported this graphics
card fully, while by the time of Quantal it was called "deprecated."
