I've found a simple (but far from ideal) workaround for this, which is to write a perl script that looks through the exported html pages looking for strings starting http://, and then hyperlinks the previous word to that URL. This is good enough for my purposes right now, so I'm just letting you know it's no longer a priority bug for me at least.
