I just tried the workaround of manually setting the MTU size. Ubuntu 13.04 64 bit (up to date; no PPA used).
My test consist in copying my photo archive (average file size 1,5 MB) from a samba share. With MTU left on "Automatic", the copy hangs sometimes after a few tens of files, other times after a few hundred files. Same thing using either WiFi or wired (Ethernet). I only tried changing MTU size with WiFi. MTU 700 - nautilus hangs during copy from a samba share MTU 1000 - nautilus hangs during copy from a samba share MTU 1500 - first test was promising. 1.220 files copied without problems. Then I tried with 16.739 files. Copy hanged after only 80 files. End of test. Test result: manually setting the MTU size workaround is not a workaround in my case. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1075923 Title: nautilus hangs copying large directories from a samba share To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gvfs/+bug/1075923/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
