** Description changed:

  Ubuntu 12.04 LTS:
I just switched mouses and my new mouse is too fast even at minimum speed in
the settings menu.

  old mouse: Dell mouse m-uvdel1
new mouse: Logitech mouse m-u0026 (from a Logitech MK120 mouse-keyboard set)

The new mouse is significantly faster at the lowest Ubuntu mouse speed
setting.
I can make it more usable by playing around with the xset command, but this
is not permanent.

When searching online for solutions, xset commands are mentioned and
modifying Xorg config files.
Is this fixed in later Ubuntu versions?
