What we want to know is whether the CUPS problem shown in comment #3 is reproducibly preventing you from installing Kubuntu 13.04. As you want to do a fresh install it is no problem for you to repeat it without any losses. So please do the fresh install again. Format the drive with ext4 and let the installation go. Do you get the exact same problem again?
Brian, can you guide Simon that he supplies the correct data to find out whether his installation always fails with the same problem? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1162164 Title: during installation of kubuntu 13.04 alpha1 on an older hardware system from 2007/2008 in the middle crash happens and kubuntu is installed only half - doesnt work To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apt-clone/+bug/1162164/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
