This seems fixed by now, but IMHO there is a problem with providing only one kind of hypervisor/kernel : it will break many setups where (non-PAE) domUs don't share the kernel image with dom0. (PAE domO cannot boot non-PAE domU, and vice-versa). Rebuilding those kernels with PAE may not be easy, and maybe impossible (third-party kernel images, pygrub images).
