Was able to install using Alternate CD however it reverts to a text
screen for the login prompt. The messages that I get before this are:
"Starting up ...
[ 17.705800] PCI: BIOS Bug: MCFG area at e0000000 in not E820-reserved
[ 17.705907] PCI: Not using MMCONFIG.
Loading, please wait...
kinit: name_to_dev_t(/dev/sda5) = sda5(8,5)
kinit: trying to resume from /dev/sda5
kinit: No resume image, doing normal boot...

Ubuntu gutsy (development branch) . . .. . .."

My primary partitions are for XP Pro and Kubuntu.
The logical partitions are for /swap and /data

What do I need to do to get a desktop so that I can install the drivers
for my ATI Radeon card which requires a GUI?

Regards
Sam
