Public bug reported:

the latest kernel on pandaboard ES boots to a black screen with a
blinking cursor. this all started with the last kernel uprade on
thursday or friday last week. but i tried the install images over the
weekend and today and they produce the same result on first boot after
install. the error in the summary was given just before the blinking
cursor on an install this weekend but did not appear today, just got a
blinking cursor with no messages. is it possible that the upgrade was
the wrong kernel version?
