It looks like your monitor has a bug in the EDID (you could re-upload a
fixed version to the monitor but it's probably not worth the risk).

Any Philips 200W6 series LCD (20.1" widescreen) should have a max/native
resolution of 1680x1050, not 1680x1680 as reported by DDC.
Unfortunately with this reportedly wrong information, usplash can't
select the proper resolution.  Apparently your monitor doesn't support
1680x1680 as it says (some monitors can report higher resolutions then
downscale them).

You should instead contact Philips about their monitor's firmware being
incorrect.  If it can not display 1680x1680 it should not be in the
EDID.  1600x1200 is incorrectly listed for your LCD as well.  There's
always a chance it's a bug in ddcprobe but I really doubt this.
