Public bug reported:

1. Plug-in Seagate FreeAgent 320GB USB Hard Disk
2. "sudo lshw -C disk" to find device
3. fdisk <device>, delete NTFS partition, create primary linux partition, and
write.
4. sudo mke2fs -j <device>1
5. Un-plug device
6. Plug device back in.

Actual outcome: device nodes are created in the /dev directory for the
hard disk and the partition.

Expected outcome: an icon is created on the desktop and the media is
mounted somewhere in the /media directory. This is what happens when
you plug-in the Seagate FreeAgent 320GB with it's original NTFS
formatted partition.
