I would like to see this bug reopened, because it is an issue that I have been facing since I started using Ubuntu four years ago, and which I have experiences with a range of HP laserprinters (strangely enough, I do not have any experience with other printers ;). This is an anoying bug, causing paper to be spilled. I am surprised to find so few information about this on the internet: apparently people do not care.
The issue is long standing and confined to evince only. To reproduce, open a PDF in Ubuntu, Ctrl+p, select "Current page", and instead of the current page, the current page + a blanc page comes out. Print the entire document, and an extra page comes out. This is not related to mismatched papersizes between the print settings and the PDF page size: I tested that. (in fact, there would be no reason for a blank page even if paper sizes would not match). I changed the description of this bug from "Additional blank pages" to "Evince prints an extra blank page after each print job".
