Just for the record: Had this problem today with the current 12.10 64-bit installer on a Lenovo E530. The installer was booted via EFI from USB stick.
Removing the ubi-webcam.py didn't work. But I noticed a "dd" process taking ~10% CPU although the installer showed that all files were already copied. A few minutes later this was still the case so I killed that process and voilĂ - the installer went on and finished successfully. My installation layout: /dev/sda (1TB HDD) /dev/sda1 - /home (999GB) /dev/sda2 - swap (1GB) /dev/sdb (16GB mSATA SSD) /dev/sdb1 - efi (256MB) /dev/sdb2 - / (15.7GB) Maybe it has something to do with it? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/966294 Title: gstreamer hangs when accessing webcam (on specific hardware) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gstreamer/+bug/966294/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
