A bunch of DMI string indexes appear to be incorrect, so the DMI tables are a bit buggy in places. Only DMI field type 41 (Onboard Devices Extended Information) seems to be accessible by the kernel (dmi_decode, drivers/firmware/dmi_scan.c), which checks that this a broken index and returns and empty string for the device name. So, it has limited impact, it just means that the DMI info is lacking for this device.
If it is possible to get the DMI information fixed then that would be useful, but this is not necessarily a show stopping bug. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: In Progress => Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1151724 Title: HP Pavilion dv6 - FWTS HIGH failures during testing To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1151724/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
