cdrom cannot be accessed. HD is SCSI, CDROM is IDE (ICH4).
Attaching output of dmesg|grep ata

** Summary changed:

- piix module not included in initramfs
+ ata_piix module cannot see cdrom

** Description changed:

- The piix module for ide chipsets is not included in the fiesty or gutsy
- initramfs image on the installer/live cds. When attempting to boot
- fiesty or gutsy from the live or alternate cd, the system fails with
- they "cannot access tty" error, and attempting to modprobe piix as per
- ben collin's fix fails with "module not found". Attempting use
- "break=top" and then load the module fails with the same error.
+ The ata_piix module fails to detect the cdrom in feisty and gutsy. The
+ fix provided by ben collins with 'modprobe piix' fails with 'module not
+ found'. The IDE controller chipset is ICH4. The cd can be booted from,
+ but boot stops when the kernel attempts to mount the root file system.
