This patch (and the packages including this patch) work around the slow log in, but introduce a serious regression: the first time lightdm is started after boot, the Shutdown menu in lightdm is empty.
We reverted to the lightdm package in ubuntu and rebuilt the accountsservice package from 12.10 on 12.04. Now the problem is fixed and this regression does not happen. (It's indeed deceiving that such a common and well analayzed bug is being ignored for almost a year. We are currently using Xubuntu on all our systems in students' class rooms. The fact that such highly annoying and common bugs are totally ignored, is making us think to switch another distro). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/996791 Title: Xubuntu 12.04 extremely slow login To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/accountsservice/+bug/996791/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
