I have managed to fix it. A strace suggested an issue reading the contents of:
/home/me/.local/share/resources/gwibber.stream_model open("/home/me/.local/share/resources/gwibber.stream_model", O_RDONLY|O_LARGEFILE) = 9 fstat64(9, {st_mode=S_IFREG|0664, st_size=1515351, ...}) = 0 mmap2(NULL, 1515351, PROT_READ, MAP_PRIVATE, 9, 0) = 0xb29f4000 close(9) = 0 write(2, "\n(gwibber:9711): GLib-CRITICAL *"..., 105 (gwibber:9711): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_variant_type_equal: assertion `g_variant_type_check (type1)' failed ) = 105 --- SIGSEGV (Segmentation fault) @ 0 (0) --- +++ killed by SIGSEGV +++ Segmentation fault Simply remove this file. Gwibber will rebuild it and you should be good to go. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1093797 Title: Gwibber does not open main window To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gwibber/+bug/1093797/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
